I cannot send a message or a request

Troubleshooting

Confirm your email first; players message clubs and coaches, not other players; only clubs and verified coaches can approach under-18s.

1. Starting a conversation, replying in one and asking for details all need a confirmed email address. Joining with our emailed code confirms it; otherwise use the banner at the top of the page.
2. Your first message needs at least 20 characters: say who you are and why you are getting in touch.
3. Players can message clubs and coaches, but not other players. Only coaches and clubs can ask for details. Somebody under 18 can be contacted first, or asked for their details, only by a club or a verified coach; they can still write to any coach or club.
4. A profile that is hidden, waiting for a parent, or suspended cannot send messages.
5. If somebody declined your request, the button on their profile shows the date from which you can ask once more.
6. In a conversation, Enter starts a new line; press Send, or Ctrl+Enter (⌘+Enter on a Mac). A message that could not be sent stays in the box so you can try again. A message can be up to 4,000 characters.
