Match analysis: what likely contributed to each score

Clubs

The match report’s Impact section shows, for every try, the recorded entries that likely contributed to it, with an impact and a confidence level. It is worked out by fixed rules from what was recorded, without AI, and it never says that something caused a score.

  1. Open the match report and tap Impact, after Summary. Overview shows the key turning points, the event influence timeline and the match-outcome contributors; Tries, Patterns and Coaching show the rest.
  2. The window decides how far back each score is looked at. The move, the default, goes back to the last restart or change of possession, at most 5 minutes. The other chips count back 2, 5 or 10 minutes, to the last stoppage, or to the set piece and what led to it.
  3. Tap a try, in the tries table, a turning point or the report’s timeline, to see its own analysis: what likely contributed, each entry with its impact and why, the confidence, observations and a coaching insight.
  4. Impact is High, Medium or Low, from fixed rules: a card, a penalty kicked to touch or conceded in a team’s own 22, a lost set piece, a turnover, an error, and how close it came before the score. Confidence is Low under 5 similar cases, Medium from 5 and High from 20, always with the number of cases; a percentage shows only from 20 cases.
  5. The full PDF and the Excel workbook carry the analysis at the default window; the one-page summary PDF does not change.
  • Each point is counted once: a try under the entry with the highest impact before it, kicks at goal on their own.
  • Confidence counts the cases in this match and, for a club match, in the team’s confirmed matches this season (counts only, for the team’s staff). With few cases most levels are Low: read them as a pointer for the video review, not as a verdict.
  • At Analyst depth, a missed tackle by the team that conceded and a line break by the scorers count too (see Recording depth and player actions).
