Pick the Match Day 23

Clubs

Choose the starting fifteen and the replacements for a fixture, then publish the team sheet to the squad in one step.

  1. In Fixtures, open a team and press Team sheet next to a fixture. Administrators and managers pick for the teams they cover (all of them, with All teams); team staff pick their own teams, unless an administrator or manager turned that off for them (Who may pick).
  2. The squad lists the players who accepted their place, and temporary players. Drag a player onto a slot (on a phone, by the dotted handle), or press a player and then a slot. With a keyboard: Enter on a player, then Enter on a slot; Escape lets go and Delete takes the player off.
  3. Below the squad's own players you can also borrow players who have a live place in another squad of the club in the same season; they are marked "from <team>". Administrators and managers may borrow from any team they cover; team staff only from the teams they look after. A borrowed player's own consent and name rules apply, and the match counts through their own place.
  4. Slots 1 to 15 are the standard positions; the bench holds 8 replacements unless the club chose between 0 and 12. Options on a slot sets the captain, the vice-captain or a different shirt number.
  5. Every change is saved by itself a moment later. With no connection, changes wait on the board and are saved when it is back; "Back to the fixtures" waits for them. If somebody else changed the same team sheet meanwhile, it reloads with their change: make your last change again.
  6. Warnings never stop you: an empty place, too few front-row replacements, a player out of position, an age outside the team's grade on the match day, a player already on another team sheet that day.
  7. When the team sheet is final, press Publish team sheet: it is locked and published in one step, and the players named on it are told in the app (never by email). If the fixture itself is still a draft, the same dialog offers to publish it too.
  8. To take a published team sheet back, press Unpublish and give a reason: players no longer see it and the MRC app can no longer get ready with it. The button then reads Publish again: it shows the same version again. To amend it, unlock it with a reason, make the change and publish again: the earlier version is kept.
  9. History shows every change, slot by slot. Keep as a version saves the draft as it is; Versions lists them all and restores an earlier one into the draft.
  • Players see only the published team sheets of their own squad, with teammates under 18 (or of unknown age) as first name and initial unless a parent or guardian agreed, and cannot download them.
  • Every change, lock, unlock, publication and unpublication is in the club's activity log. While a lapsed club is read-only, its team sheets can be seen and shared but not changed.
