Will my profile show up on Google?

FAQs

Players never, and nobody under 18. Clubs once our team has verified them, unless they hide. Adult coaches only if they switch it on.

1. Player profiles are never shown in search engines such as Google, and neither is the profile of anybody under 18 — not even a coach who asks.
2. A coach aged 18 or over, with a date of birth recorded, can switch on "Show my profile in search engines" under Edit profile → Search engines. It is off until you switch it on, and you can switch it off again at any time.
3. A club appears in search engines once our team has verified it, unless the club switches on "Hide my club from search engines" in the same place.
4. A search engine is only ever told what any visitor already sees: a display name, never a real name, and never contact details or a player's pictures.
5. Your page's address is made from your display name (or the club's name) and changes with it. Only a club's, or a listed coach's, old address forwards to the new one.

• A club or an adult coach who is shown may also write their own search-result title and description. They must not contain a real name.
